Joe (Government Issue, Joe) En referencia a la representaci\u00f3n del Gobierno estadounidense en sus soldados, apodados durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial \u00abJOE\u00bb, es el nombre de una l\u00ednea de figuras de acci\u00f3n concebida por Stanley Weston, quien en 1963 tuvo la idea de crear unos mu\u00f1ecos militares enfocados a los ni\u00f1os, que pretend\u00edan emular el \u00e9xito de Barbie entre las ni\u00f1as.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasbro, que vio potencial en el proyecto, decidi\u00f3 bautizar su idea con el nombre gen\u00e9rico de \u00abG.I. Joe\u00bb. Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s tarde, el 2 de febrero de 1964, se lanzaron al mercado las primeras cuatro figuras de 12 pulgadas (30,48 cm), cada una representando una rama del ej\u00e9rcito. Pero la colecci\u00f3n m\u00e1s memorable de G.I. Joe es la de 3,75 pulgadas que se conoce como \u201cvintage\u201d y sali\u00f3 a la venta en los a\u00f1os \u201980, en simult\u00e1neo con una popular serie de comics y dibujos animados llamada \u201cG.I.
