This figure is part of the Turtle Games sub-line, where the turtles are characterized with different Olympic-themed outfits.
That same year was the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and to commemorate the event, Playmates decided to release these figures with each turtle dressed in a different Olympic sport.
One thing that distinguishes this sub-line from others is that all pieces included a medal.
There are no known variants of this figure, only slight changes in the blister depending on the place of distribution.
