Dimetrodon is part of the second wave of the Dino-Riders collection, a line of mechanized dinosaur figures with armor.
This line was distributed by different toy companies depending on the country, so we can find this figure in different boxes with stamps from different toy companies.
There are two known versions of this figure, the only difference being the character's weapon pack included. Some pieces have been seen with the first version of weapons (ladder, necklaces, etc.) and others with the second (backpack rifle, nut sword, etc.).
The collection was originally created by the toy company TYCO in collaboration with a group of scientists from the Smithsonian Institution, and the dinosaur figures were validated by anthropologists.
Some of these dinosaur figures were also sold in the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, but without armor or fictional characters.
