Curiosities and variants of the figure
The Greedo figure was part of the second wave of figures (1978) of the Star Wars collection, during the following years several reeditions of the figure were made, so we can find it with different cardboards.
The first edition of this second wave is known as “20-back”, since the back of the carton showed 20 figures, the 12 from the first wave and the 8 from the second wave. This edition included a promotion whereby by sending 4 proofs of purchase to KENNER, the toy company mailed the figure of Boba Fett.
This figure was also included in the Cantina Playset.
Character
Greedo is a Rhodesian bounty hunter. He appears in “A New Hope” (episode IV) and is hired by Jabba the Hutt to collect a debt of Han Solo.
Greedo has a conflict with Han in the Mos Eisley canteen, during which Greedo attempts to extort money from Solo. However, the encounter ends in a gunfight in which Greedo is shot down by Han. This encounter becomes an iconic moment in the franchise due to the phrase “Tomorrow it will be you” and the debate over who shot first.
