85 – Crayfishan

Crayfishan (or Zariganian), is part of the first wave of the Laser Beasts collection, also known as the Lower 12. This first series was distributed internationally in markets such as the United States, Europe, and Japan.

Depending on the region of sale, the packaging varies: it can be found in a box (Japan) or in a blister pack (Europe and the U.S.), a common feature in this line of vintage action figures.

Although Laser Beasts figures typically command high prices on the collector’s market, these early releases are generally “the most affordable in the line” due to their wider distribution.

Subsequent waves, on the other hand, are much more limited and tend to see a significant increase in value on the secondary market.

Just like the Battle Beasts figures, these figures and their weapons are numbered.

The main difference between the Battle Beasts and Laser Beasts lines lies in how each figure’s element is displayed. While the Battle Beasts used a heat-activated sticker that revealed the element when heat was applied, the Laser Beasts evolved this system to a crystal on the chest, through which, when light passes, the symbol of the corresponding element (fire, water, or wood) is projected.
