The Dial-Tone (v2) action figure was introduced in 1986 as part of the fifth series, exclusively available within the Toys R Us Special Mission Brazil boxed set.
This vintage G.I. Joe collection included Dial-Tone alongside Claymore, Leatherneck (v2), Mainframe (v2), and Wet Suit (v2).
A unique feature of this boxed set was an accompanying cassette tape. The tape documented the adventures of the included G.I. Joe team during their mission to Brazil.
Archival notes indicate the audio quality, including voices, dialogue, sound effects, and the narrative, was considered suboptimal.
The second side of the cassette was intentionally left blank for user recording.
