This figure is part of the first wave of the “Spider-Man Animated Series” collection, created by TOYBIZ toy company. This collection recreated the characters from the popular 90’s animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
The figures were distributed and sold in several countries, so we will be able to find the “carded” figures with cardboards in different languages.
Doctor Octopus, whose real name is Otto Octavius, is one of the most iconic villains in the Marvel Universe and a recurring adversary of Spider-Man. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he made his first appearance in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #3 in 1963.
Otto Octavius is a brilliant scientist and engineer who, after an accident in his laboratory, is equipped with a mechanical harness of four tentacular arms, which attach to his back and give him superhuman strength and a precise ability to manipulate objects.
Originally, Otto uses his harness for scientific purposes, but after the accident, he becomes the supervillain known as Doctor Octopus, using his tentacles in criminal activities and confronting Spider-Man on multiple occasions .
His intelligence and engineering skills make him a formidable adversary, as he combines scientific genius with combat prowess.
