Curiosities about the toy and variants

This figure is part of the fifth wave of the "Spider-Man Animated Series" collection created by toy manufacturer TOYBIZ. This collection recreated the characters from the popular 1990s animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

The figures were distributed and sold in several countries, so we can find "carded" figures with packaging in different languages.

This figure has an action feature that allows us to rotate its face, thus having both the human and vampire versions of Morbius in the same figure.

Character

Morbius, whose full name is Michael Morbius, is a Marvel Comics character known as one of Spider-Man's recurring antiheroes and villains. Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, he made his first appearance in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #101 in 1971.

Morbius was a brilliant biochemist who, in a desperate attempt to cure his rare blood disease, performs a failed experiment using bats, vampires, and electroshock. Although the experiment cures his disease, it also transforms him into a "living vampire."

As Morbius, Michael develops many of the classic characteristics of a vampire, including an insatiable thirst for blood, sharp fangs, superhuman strength, and the ability to fly. However, unlike traditional vampires, Morbius is not a supernatural being and is not vulnerable to sunlight or garlic, but his transformation torments him as he constantly struggles with his thirst for blood and the harm he causes to others.
