Scorpion, whose real name is Mac Gargan, is a classic villain from the Marvel universe and one of Spider-Man's most recurring enemies. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he made his first appearance in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #19 in 1964.
Gargan was a private detective hired by J. Jonah Jameson, the editor of the Daily Bugle, to discover Spider-Man's identity. However, Jameson finances an experiment that fuses Gargan with a special scorpion-inspired suit, hoping to create a being capable of defeating Spider-Man.
The experiment gives Gargan superhuman strength, agility, and a suit with a highly powerful and versatile mechanical tail, capable of shooting acid, electricity, and using brute force in combat. However, the process also affects his mind, making him increasingly unstable and obsessed with revenge.
