Curiosities about the toy and variants

This figure is part of the fourth wave of the "Spider-Man Animated Series" collection created by toy manufacturer TOYBIZ. This collection recreated the characters from the popular 1990s animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

The figures were distributed and sold in several countries, so we can find "carded" figures with cards in different languages.

This figure has a piece on the chest with a vinyl spider web that rolls up, and it is very common to find this piece broken.

Character

Spider-Man's black suit, also known as the Black Costume, is one of the most iconic and significant versions of the character. Introduced in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #252 in 1984, the black suit is actually an alien symbiote that Peter Parker acquires during the events of "Secret Wars."

This suit initially appears to be an improvement for Spider-Man, granting him greater strength, the ability to generate organic webs, and the ability to change his appearance at will.

However, over time, Peter discovers that the symbiote has a mind of its own and is trying to permanently fuse with him, affecting his behavior and making him more aggressive.

Recognizing the danger, Peter eventually manages to separate himself from the symbiote with the help of sound waves, and the resentful symbiote bonds with Eddie Brock, creating one of Spider-Man's most formidable enemies: Venom.
