Curiosities about the toy and variants
Luke Skywalker (in Battle Poncho) is one of the figures from the final wave of the Star Wars vintage collection produced by the toy company KENNER. All figures from this final wave are considered extremely rare and are included among the so-called "The Last 17"—the last 17 figures released, which are the most expensive and hardest to find in the entire collection. This is because the production run for these figures was much shorter than for previous ones, so fewer units exist.
With the film trilogy now complete and no future releases in sight, KENNER made a final attempt to keep the figure line going, this time under the name "The Power of the Force," but unfortunately, the Star Wars craze was already coming to an end after several successful years.
All figures in this final wave included an exclusive coin for each character, both the new ones and the reissues from previous waves. These figures were sold in various countries, so we can find them with packaging featuring the triple logo of "Return of the Jedi"; in that case, they did not include the coin.
Character
Luke Skywalker (with Battle Poncho) is a variant of the franchise's main character. In *Return of the Jedi*, during the Battle of Endor, Luke wears a battle poncho as part of his tactical outfit while leading the Rebels in the fight against the Galactic Empire.
This battle poncho is an addition to his iconic Jedi outfit and represents his active role in the final battle to liberate the galaxy. Luke is a symbol of hope and courage in the fight against the Empire.
