Checklist – TMNT Vintage

The collection of Ninja Turtles figures is a very large collection with hundreds of figures, there was a “basic” line of figures based on the characters of the animated series that you can see here: TMNT Basic Figures.

At the same time, sub-lines were released with more figures that had in common some thematic or “Action-feature”, here we review all these figures that are also part of the vintage collection…

Wacky Action:

The Wacky Action figures are a sub-line within the collection, a series of figures with various characters that have a particular “action-feature” that makes some kind of movement when wound up. The first wacky action figures were released in 1989 and over the next couple of years more figures were released until there were 9 figures with this typical wind-up toy functionality.

Sewer Sports

Here we have a sub-line with 6 figures of the turtles in their most sporty version, dressed as players of 6 different sports.

Rock’N Rollin

The Rock’N Rollin sub-line consists of four figures of the protagonist turtles in different outfits of different musical styles. Later on, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Muta-Bus a vehicle that became a stage and perfectly complemented these figures.

Mutant Military

This sub-line consists of two waves with a total of 10 figures in which the characters are dressed with the military theme.

Talkin Turtles

These figures are characterized by a wind-up mechanism and a loudspeaker in the shell that emits sounds making the turtles talk.

Headdroppin

In this sub-line we find the figures of the four main turtles with the “Action-feature” of being able to hide the head inside the body and by activating the mechanism by squeezing the legs, the head comes out of the torso.

Turtle Games

In 1992, to commemorate the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, the four turtles came out dressed in Olympic sports attire:

Mutations

The Mutations sub-line stands out because all of its figures have the ability to transform (mutate), moving some of their joints and replacing them with others that are inside their body.

Smash’em Bash’em

Movie Star

Along with the release of the Ninja Turtles live-action movie, some figures based on the characters from the movie were released.

Sewer Spitting Turtles

This sub-line stood out because its figures could shoot water out of their mouths.

Wacky Wild West Turtles

Here we have a wave for westerns lovers, the four turtles dressed like in the wild west.

Cave Turtles

In this sub-line we have six figures dressed as cavemen and each of them accompanied by a dinosaur they can ride.

Sewer Heroes

Four new figures with their characters dressed as superheroes.

Road Ready Mutations

Following in the wake of the previous sub-line: Mutations, we come to this wave where the figures can transform into vehicles in the purest Transformers style.

Auto Mutations

One more wave of Mutations, this time the figures can change their clothes automatically by activating their mechanism by appearing as legs, in the purest Mighty Morphin Power Rangers style.
