The Luke Skywalker X-wing Pilot figure was part of the second wave of figures (1978) in the Star Wars collection; over the following years, several reissues of the figure were produced, so it can be found with different packaging.
The first edition of this second wave is known as the "20-back," since the back of the box featured 20 figures: the 12 from the first wave and the 8 from the second. This edition included a promotion: by sending 4 proofs of purchase to KENNER, the toy company would mail a Boba Fett figure.
Luke Skywalker is the central protagonist of the Star Wars saga. He begins as a young farmer on Tatooine, but his life changes when he meets Princess Leia and becomes involved in the fight against the Empire. Guided by his Jedi mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke discovers his connection to the Force and becomes a Jedi.
