Curiosities and variants of the figure

Anakin Skywalker is one of the figures of the last wave of the vintage Star Wars collection produced by the toymaker KENNER, all the figures of this last wave are considered very rare and are included among the so-called “The Last 17”, the last 17 figures released to the market are the most expensive and complicated to obtain of the entire collection. This is because the print run of these figures was much shorter than the previous ones, so there are fewer units.

With the movie trilogy now finished and no future releases in sight, KENNER made one last attempt to keep the figure line going, this time under the name “The Power of the Force”, but unfortunately the Star Wars fad was already coming to an end after several successful years.

All the figures of this last wave included an exclusive coin of each character, both new and reissued from previous waves. These figures were sold in several countries, so we can find them with cardboard with the triple logo of “Return of the Jedi”, in that case did not include the coin.

The figure of Anakin Skywalker was also part of one of KENNER’s “Mail-Away” promotions, where buyers sent proof of purchase to the toy company and the company mailed them this figure as a gift.

Character

Anakin Skywalker is a crucial character in the franchise. He is a talented young man who becomes a Jedi and, later, falls to the dark side of the Force, becoming Darth Vader, the apprentice of Palpatine. His story is a fundamental part of the saga, representing the struggle between good and evil, and his redemption is a high point in the Star Wars narrative.
