The Prowler, whose real name is Hobie Brown, is a character from the Marvel universe who has been both a villain and an ally of Spider-Man. Created by Stan Lee, John Buscema, and Jim Mooney, he made his first appearance in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #78 in 1969.
Hobie Brown is a young inventor and technician, tired of being underestimated in his job as a window cleaner. Using his talent, he creates an advanced suit with claws, hooks, and devices that allow him to climb walls and shoot gases and projectiles, adopting the identity of The Prowler to commit crimes with the intention of eventually reforming and clearing his name.
However, after a confrontation with Spider-Man, Hobie realizes the error of his ways and decides to use his abilities for good, becoming an occasional ally of the arachnid hero.
Over the years, The Prowler has appeared in several stories, sometimes as a hero and sometimes as an antihero, but always with a strong sense of justice.
