Curiosities and variants of the figure

The figure of Lex Luthor part of the first wave of figurines in the collection of the Super Powers produced by the KENNER toy company between 1984-1986.

Being a figure of the first wave, this was reissued in later years, however, in its first edition with the cardboard “12-back” is the most sought after among collectors, this carton contains the image on the back of the first twelve figures in the collection.

As with the rest of the figures in the line of the Super Powers, the figure of Lex Luthor comes with a “Action-feature“. In this case, squeezing his legs, his left arm was raised.

Character

Alexander Joseph “Lex Luthor” is a supervillain appearing in U.S. comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Lex Luthor originally appeared in Action Comics #23 (April 1940). Since then, he has endured as the superhero’s archenemy Superman.

Lex Luthor was portrayed as a narcissistic, egotistical mad scientist from the 1960s to the mid-1980s. Since the mid-1980s, he has most often been portrayed as the power-mad CEO of LexCorp.

He desires to rid the world of Superman, apparently because it sees Superman as a threat to humanity, but actually envies his popularity and influence.
