The Penguin figure is part of the first wave of figures in the Super Powers collection produced by toy manufacturer KENNER between 1984 and 1986.
As it was one of the first wave of figures, it was reissued in subsequent years, although the first edition with the "12-back" cardboard box is the most sought after by collectors. This box contains an image of the first twelve figures in the collection on the back.
Like the other figures in the Super Powers line, the Penguin figure comes with an "action feature." In this case, pressing the legs moves the umbrella arm.
Penguin, known in the Spanish-speaking world as El Pingüino, is a supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. The character made his first appearance in Detective Comics #58 (December 1941) and was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
