The Grunt (v1) figure features the classic variations of the original 1982 series, including units with either thick or thin thumbs. Upon its re-release in 1983, the figure underwent major construction updates, often referred to as v1.5: swivel-arm articulation was added, the waist-piece was made slimmer, and the mold's date stamp was updated from "1982" to "82-83."
Collector's should note that accessories are not fully cross-compatible: the backpack pegs for the 1982 straight-arm figures differ from later versions, causing them to fit loosely on 1983 swivel-arm figures.
