Character:

Alan Grant is a fictional paleontologist and one of the main characters in the Jurassic Park franchise. He first appears in the 1993 film, played by Sam Neill. He is an expert on dinosaurs, especially raptors, and at the beginning of the story he is skeptical about the cloning of these extinct animals.

Invited to visit the park to give his scientific approval, Grant finds himself caught up in chaos when the dinosaurs escape. Throughout the saga, he is portrayed as a rational, courageous, and protective man, especially toward children, despite his initial discomfort with them. His character represents the scientific and moral voice against the irresponsible use of biotechnology.
