This figure is part of the Evil Space Aliens Series 4, the fourth wave of villain figures. Series 4 pieces are much harder to find than previous waves.
There are no known variants of this figure, although depending on the place of distribution we can find differences in the packaging.
Erik the Barbaric is one of the Barbaric Brothers, sent by Lord Zedd along with his brother Merrick to poison the lake of Angel Grove with a toxic purple liquid, seeking to destroy the Alien Rangers or force them to return to Aquitar.
Erik and his brother take on the Rangers. Being enlarged, they fight the Battle Borgs and then the Shogun Megazord. Despite their alien strength and armor, both are defeated and destroyed.
