Toyzinger
Silverhawks known in the Spanish-speaking world as Los Halcones Galácticos, is an animated series from the 80’s by the same creators of Thundercats. A line of comic books was also launched alongside the series.
The story is about heroes from the 29th century who were created with metal bodies and wings to fight organized crime in the Limbo galaxy. The heroes recruited by the Stargazer and led by the protagonist Quicksilver are a species of humanoid cyborgs with bird-like (hawk-like) wings that can fly through space. They fight against Mon*Star the self-styled “master of the planets” and his henchmen.
The series ended up being canceled and we never got to see how Mon*star was defeated. It is also said that the production company’s idea was to end up uniting the Silverhawks with other franchises it owns, such as Thundercats and Tiger Sharks, but in the end we could not enjoy this unification of universes.
Just like most of the animated series of the 80’s a toy line was launched to the market, in this case, the toy company in charge of the collection of figures was KENNER, the same creators of one of the most successful lines of figures in history: STAR WARS.
Years later, other toy companies have also launched lines of collectible figures from this franchise.
