Curiosities about the toy and variants
4-LOM: In 1982, Kenner released the fifth wave of figures from its Star Wars collection; this wave features figures based on characters from the movie *The Empire Strikes Back*.
This figure was reissued several times and released in different countries or as part of various promotions, so we can find it with different packaging, even though the figure itself is the same across all versions.
Initially, this figure was given away as part of a "buy 5, get 1 free" promotion, where customers mailed in proof of purchase and received the figure by mail. Later, the figure went on sale in cardboard and blister packaging like the rest of the collection.
There is significant controversy surrounding this figure and the Zuckuss figure, as it initially appears that KENNER made a mistake and swapped their names—a mistake they would correct years later in future figure lines. However, within the vintage collection, they are known by their opposite names; that is, this figure actually depicts the character Zuckuss, and vice versa.
