The Death Star Droid figure was part of the second wave of figures (1978) in the Star Wars collection; over the following years, several reissues of the figure were produced, so it can be found with different packaging.
The first edition of this second wave is known as the "20-back," since the back of the box featured 20 figures: the 12 from the first wave and the 8 from the second. This edition included a promotion where, upon sending 4 proofs of purchase to KENNER, the toy company would mail a Boba Fett figure.
The Death Star Droid is a droid model. It appears in *A New Hope* aboard the Death Star. Its unique design, featuring a black and silver body, sets it apart within the saga. Although its screen time is limited, its presence within the Death Star setting contributes to the franchise’s high-tech and diverse atmosphere.
