FX-7 is part of the third wave of figures from the Star Wars vintage collection, produced by the toy company KENNER in 1980. This wave of figures was released to coincide with the premiere that same year of the second film in the saga, *The Empire Strikes Back*.
This figure was released in various countries and reissued in subsequent years, so it can be found with different packaging and/or minor color variations.
FX-7 is a medical droid. It appears in *The Empire Strikes Back* at the Rebel base on Hoth. Its design is specifically tailored for medical care and the treatment of the wounded. During the evacuation of the base, FX-7 works in the Alliance's recovery and treatment room.
