Curiosities about the toy and variants

Jawa is one of the first 12 figures in the "Star Wars" (vintage) figure collection created by the toy company KENNER. These early figures were reissued several times over the years; the first editions from 1977 feature a print of the first 12 figures on the back of the box, Today, we know them as "12-backs," and they are the most sought-after by collectors.

This line of figures was launched in several countries and distributed by different toy companies, so the packaging can be found in various languages and with the logos of different toy companies.

There are two versions of this figure: one with the cloth cape and a much rarer variant that is highly sought after by collectors—the "Vinyl Cape" version, featuring a vinyl tunic/cape.

Character

The Jawas are small, hooded, nomadic creatures native to the desert planet Tatooine; they are known for their skill in collecting and selling scrap metal and droids. The Jawas travel in huge scrap-collecting vehicles called "sandcrawlers." They are experts in trade and are often willing to do business with the local inhabitants.
