The Sand Skimmer is part of the latest wave of vehicles in the "Star Wars Vintage" collection. It appears that fewer units were produced for this latest wave, and all of its parts are somewhat harder to find than those from previous waves.
This item comes in two different packaging styles: in the U.S. market, it was released in cardboard + blister packaging, whereas in the European market, it came in a box. Over the years, it has become practically impossible to find the U.S. cardboard blister pack without yellowing.
