The Metal Mutants sub-line was released in 1995 in both the U.S. and Japanese markets. In this collection, the Ninja Turtles appear equipped with armor reminiscent of the classic Saint Seiya style.
The packaging of the figures varied significantly depending on the place of distribution: in Japan they were marketed in boxes, while the rest of the world opted for the typical cardboard and plastic bubble format.
Japanese boxes are especially valued by collectors, surpassing the blister versions in popularity.
These figures are quite difficult to find, especially in good condition and with all their original accessories. Each turtle has a unique armor made up of numerous pieces, which increases the difficulty of getting them complete.
