Curiosities about the toy and variants

The Dr. Fate figure is part of the second wave of figures in the Super Powers collection produced by toy manufacturer KENNER between 1984 and 1986.

This figure was distributed in several countries, so there are some differences in the blister packs. Some editions included a comic book or different offers, such as the Clark Kent figure or Superman's cape.

Like the other figures in the collection, the Dr. Fate figure had an "Action Feature" in which when you squeeze his legs, his arms rise.

Character

Doctor Fate (also known as Fate) is a superhero who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics.

The original version of the character was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Howard Sherman, debuting in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940). The character has appeared in several incarnations, with Doctor Fate being the name of several different people in the DC Universe as part of a sorcerous legacy with several attempts to revitalize the character.

Doctor Fate was originally conceived as a force fighting evil by the supernatural being Nabu, a cosmic being affiliated with the Lords of Order and Mesopotamian deities, who is the main enemy of the Lords of Chaos. Over time, Nabu empowered mortal agents to act on his behalf and that of the Lords of Order.
