Snake Eyes (v1) is arguably the most iconic and sought-after figure in the entire G.I. Joe franchise. Released by Hasbro in 1982 as part of Series One, this stealth commando is the most mysterious member of the "Original Sixteen."
This initial version is defined by its all-black aesthetic and the classic straight-arm construction. Unlike later iterations, the original 1982 Snake Eyes features a simpler mask design without the signature visor that would come later.
At the classic 3 3/4" scale, this figure is not just a cornerstone of vintage collecting, but the genesis of a pop culture legend.
Variants:
Snake Eyes (v1) features the standard technical variations of the early production runs, with units found with either thick or thin thumbs. Upon its 1983 re-release, significant construction updates led to what is known as version v1.5: the introduction of swivel-arm bicep articulation, a slimmer waist-piece, and an updated mold date stamp of "82-83."
