Curiosities about the toy and variants

The Brainiac figure is part of the first wave of figures in the Super Powers collection produced by toy manufacturer KENNER between 1984 and 1986.

As it was one of the first wave of figures, it was reissued in subsequent years, although the first edition with the "12-back" card is the most sought after by collectors. This card contains an image of the first twelve figures in the collection on the back.

Like the other figures in the Super Powers line, the Brainiac figure comes with an "action feature." In this case, when you squeeze the figure's arms, the right leg moves as if kicking.

Character

Brainiac is a supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and first appeared in Action Comics #242 in July 1958.

Brainiac is usually depicted as an alien android or cyborg and enemy of Superman and the Justice League. He is known for shrinking and stealing Kandor, the capital city of Superman's home planet Krypton, and is even responsible for the destruction of Krypton in some continuities.
