The Hawkman figure is part of the first wave of figures in the Super Powers collection produced by toy manufacturer KENNER between 1984 and 1986.
As it was one of the first wave of figures, it was reissued in subsequent years, although the first edition with the "12-back" card is the most sought after by collectors. This card contains an image of the first twelve figures in the collection on the back.
Like the other figures in the Super Powers line, the Hawkman figure comes with an "action feature." In this case, when you squeeze the figure's legs, its wings flap as if it were flying.
Hawkman is a superhero who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Dennis Neville, Hawkman first appeared in Flash Comics #1, published in 1940.
Several incarnations of Hawkman have appeared in DC Comics, all characterized by the use of archaic weaponry and large artificial wings attached to a harness made of special metal that allows him to fly.
