The Steppenwolf figure is part of the second wave of figures in the Super Powers collection produced by toy manufacturer KENNER between 1984 and 1986.
This figure was distributed in several countries, so there are some differences in the blister packs. Some editions included a comic book or different offers such as the Clark Kent figure or Superman's cape.
Like the other figures in the collection, the Steppenwolf figure had an "Action Feature" whereby when you squeeze his legs, his arm with the axe rises.
Steppenwolf is one of the evil New Gods of Apokolips and the uncle of its ruler, Darkseid. His sister is Darkseid's mother, Heggra. He is a high-ranking military general who leads many invasions.
His weapon of choice is the Electro-Axe. He is best known for murdering Avia, wife of the ruler Highfather of New Genesis. Steppenwolf was created by Jack Kirby as part of his Fourth World saga, appearing for the first time in New Gods #7 (1972).
