The G.I. Joe DRAGONFLY [XH-1] Assault Copter is a notable vintage vehicle in the action figure collection, initially released in U.S. toy stores in 1983. This iconic helicopter was consistently available through 1985 before its discontinuation in 1986.

The Dragonfly [XH-1] features a notable variation concerning its nose turret. Earlier production models included a turret with guns capable of both swiveling horizontally and elevating vertically. Subsequent releases presented a revised turret design where the guns were restricted to horizontal swivel movement only, lacking the vertical elevation feature. The swivel/elevate version is generally considered more difficult to acquire for a complete collection.
Internationally, the Assault Copter Dragonfly saw distribution in various markets.
From 1985 to 1987, it was released in Europe as part of the Action Force toyline.
In Brazil, Estrela Toys distributed it under the Comandos em Acao line, where it was known as the Jetcoptero De Combate.
