This figure is part of Series 4 of the Evil Space Aliens, the fourth wave of villain figures. The pieces in Series 4 are much harder to find than those in previous waves.
There are no known variants of this figure, although depending on the place of distribution, there may be differences in the packaging.
Erik the Barbaric is one of the Barbaric Brothers, sent by Lord Zedd along with his brother Merrick to poison Angel Grove's lake with a toxic purple liquid, seeking to destroy the Alien Rangers or force them to return to Aquitar.
Erik and his brother face off against the Rangers. After being enlarged, they battle the Battle Borgs and then the Shogun Megazord. Despite their strength and alien armor, both are defeated and destroyed.
