Curiosities and variants
Shiryu is the bronze knight of the Dragon and disciple of Dokho of Libra. Together with his companions, they protect the goddess Athenea from all kinds of dangers throughout the series
During the course of the series the design of the bronze knights’ armor evolves, thus having different figures of the same character with some changes in the armor.
In this case we have the V2 version of the Dragon, as their own number indicates, the V2 armors are the second version of the armors. They appear after the end of the Sanctuary saga, and are worn by the Bronze Knights during the Asgard and Poseidon sagas.
After the success of the figures with V1 armor, in 1988 BANDAI launched again the 5 bronze knights with V2 armor, these figures also arrived in France, Spain and Latin America. So we can find this piece with different boxes, in different languages.
As a curious fact, these V2 figures were the first to arrive in Latin America, but at that point, the broadcast of the series had not yet reached the point where the knights were carrying them. So it was a little weird to see that the characters did not wear the same armor as in the series, but that did not prevent these toys were a total success, as the children of the time were crazy to have toys of their favorite series.
