James Wheeler is the bearer of the Ring of Fire and the third Planetary to be summoned. When summoning Captain Planet, he is the second Planetary to call his element. It comes from North America (more specifically, from Brooklyn, New York).
He found his ring after saving a man from a thug who was trying to mug him. Then, the ring shot out of a flaming drum and landed on the hand of Wheeler.
