Character
TheScarecrow, whose real name is Jonathan Crane, is one of the most terrifying and psychological villains in “Batman: The Animated Series”.
As a former psychology professor specializing in the study of fear, Crane becomes the Scarecrow after being fired from the university for his unethical experiments. Determined to get revenge and demonstrate the power of fear, he uses a special gas that induces terrifying hallucinations in his victims, forcing them to face their worst fears.
Visually, Scarecrow is creepy, dressed in a costume reminiscent of a farm scarecrow, with a mask that reflects his obsession with fear. Throughout the series, his focus is on psychological terror, both in his enemies and in the population of Gotham City.
