The COBRA H.I.S.S. DRIVER (v1) action figure was initially introduced in 1983 as part of the second G.I. Joe series.
This vintage figure was exclusively bundled with the Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank (High Speed Sentry) during its 1983 and 1984 retail availability.
Collectors could later acquire the H.I.S.S. Driver in 1987, as it was included in the "Special Missions Drivers" set, a mail-order exclusive from Hasbro Direct.
For international distribution, the H.I.S.S. Driver saw release in the United Kingdom and Europe under the designation "Enemy Trooper." This version was initially paired with the "Escape Armour" and subsequently with the black "Hyena" tank. This figure was also distributed in various randomly packed four-figure sets.
