This figure was part of the fourth wave of figures from the vintage “Masters of the Universe” collection, released by Mattel in 1985.
It was launched in different countries, so we can find it with cartons in different languages or with slight color changes.
There is a variant quite well known of this figure, it is the “Dark Face Grizzlor”, produced in Mexico to be sold in the USA, this variant has a black face and extremities instead of the brown color of the others.
It is said that this variant was so scary to children that it was removed from toy stores, although it seems to be more of an urban legend than a true story. Even so, to this day the “Dark Face Grizzlor” is a highly sought after figure by collectors.
Grizzlor is one of the members of the Horde, and as such he faithfully follows the orders of Hordak. It is considered a ferocious creature and very feared by its enemies. It is said that it likes to stun its prey and then finish them off with its claws.
