The Black Saints are a group of warriors that exist in parallel to the sacred order of Athena's knights. They are an order of renegade knights, branded as traitors, whom the goddess has removed from her army. These warriors care only about victory and power. Their dark side has prevented them from conquering legitimate Athena armor, so they wear these black suits of armor, which are copies of the Cloths used by Athena's army.
Although the character is not the same, this figure is identical to the V1 version of Cygnus, but with both the armor and the body painted black.
These figures were released exclusively in Japan in 1987, in a very limited run of only 12,000 units, making them very expensive and difficult to find.
