Curiosities about the toy and variants
Scratch is a mutant cat wearing a convict's uniform. He does not appear in the animated series or the comics, although some say he is based on another comic book character named Hallocat, who is also a convict cat.
In the same year the figure was released, 1993, a Game Boy video game titled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue" was released. In this game, Scratch appears as the first villain boss to be defeated.
For some reason, this figure is the most expensive in the entire collection; there is no apparent reason why this figure commands such an exorbitant price, sometimes exceeding $7,000 for its carded version. But it seems there are collectors willing to pay it.
There are no known variants of this figure, nor has there been any reissue of it, so the number of pieces is lower than others in the collection. However, it is not the rarest piece in the collection, as it can frequently be found for sale on online second-hand marketplaces.
